WHEN? In at least 10 major wars, in 18+ conflict situations from the 1898 Spanish American War to the Persian Gulf War and even to the present War on Terrorism, which is like no other war.
WHO? More
than 1,000,000 lives in the 10 major wars given up for something of greater value, something having a more pressing claim.
WHY? Not to aggressively seek to get or to gain what someone else has, whether it be land, power or wealth
(see James 4:1-3), but to DEFEND our nation “and secure the Blessing of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America” which is being threatened from within and from without. God's Word opposes internationalism because a one world government opens the door to the total control of a society by a system which cannot and will not do right of and by itself. See

GOD'S WORD teaches that nations are for restraining and maintaining a balance of power among nations for peaceful existence. A nation may be led to want or to possess what belongs to other nations, but they are hindered from such because of other nations. Each nation is able to maintain the God-given privilege of choosing God and His Word, of marriage, of family, of law and order. The nations, consisting of families, have the right to defend their territories.
GEORGE WASHINGTON told his troops: “The time is near at hand which must probably determine whether Americans are to be freemen or slaves; whether they are to have any property they can call their own; whether their houses and farms are to be pillaged and destroyed, and themselves consigned to a state of wretchedness from which no human effort will deliver them. The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army.”
BENJAMIN FRANKLIN: “Liberty will not descend to a people, a people must raise themselves to liberty.”
DANIEL WEBSTER: “God grants liberty only to those who love it and are always ready to defend it.”
PATRICK HENRY: “Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?”
PRINCIPLE: When those who know and remember fail to teach and to display to the following generation their rights, responsibilities and privileges, it is only a matter of time until they, by neglect, fail to appreciate and guard the freedoms American men and women have paid for with the loss of their lives and the loss of their limbs
(Judges 2:7, 10, 11).
As the nation of Israel had the right to choose life and blessing in their land and lives
(Deut. 30:19-20) because of the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ
(Isaiah 53; Lev. 16-17), so we can choose Him and the resultant
LIFE and
BLESSING by an act of our own will:
“But as many as received HIM, to them gave HE power to become the sons [children] of God, even to them that believe on His Name.” “He that hath the Son hath LIFE; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” John 1:12; 1 John 5:12.
